Welcome to the Washington Area Women's Foundation Donor Advised Fund!

Thank you for your interest in investing in women and girls in our region.

Through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) at The Women's Foundation you can have a powerful impact on the region's women and girls.

DAFs have become the most sought-after charitable giving vehicle.  Through a DAF you can make a charitable contribution, benefit from an immediate tax deduction, avoid paying capital gain taxes, and, over time, recommend grants to IRS-qualified public charities.

Leverage Your Investment

To best leverage your investment for women and girls:

•    Start with a minimum opening gift of $20,000.
•    Provide an annual grant to The Women’s Foundation’s general operations of at least five percent of the DAF balance.
•    Consider making at least 50 percent of your grant recommendations to organizations supporting women and girls locally, inclusive of the grants to The Women’s Foundation.
•    Look at spending down your DAF at the rate of 20 percent per year, the industry average, to ensure resources get to work on improving the lives of  women and girls.

We look forward to partnering with you and thank you for investing in our region’s women and girls. Together we will change lives.
